Course Description

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the digital clutter in your music room? You’re not alone! While most music teachers are familiar with the Google Workspace for Education tools, few harness its full power. In this lesson, you’ll learn tips and tricks to better navigate and organize your Google Drive, as well as ways to optimize usage of the Chrome Browser.

Course Objectives

During the workshop, you will:

Learn how to use Google Drive to create files
Learn how to customize the Chrome Browser
Learn about Chrome Extensions to enhance the Chrome Browser

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

Organize and clean up your Google Drive using folders and naming conventions
Effectively search for files in your Google Drive
Save and organize links within the Chrome Browser

Theresa Hoover

Theresa Hoover is a music educator, speaker, and writer. She is an advocate for student voice in the music room and works to empower students throughout their musical experiences and help teachers transform their classrooms to become student-centered learning environments. Theresa has taught music in a variety of settings, most recently teaching middle school band in Northern Virginia. Theresa is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator, frequently working with teachers to help integrate technology into their music classes. She is the author of the book, Empowering Ensembles With Technology, and the co-author of Pass the Baton: Empowering All Music Students. Theresa is currently working towards a PhD in Music Learning and Teaching at Arizona State University and teaches undergraduate music education classes.
