SHANE COLQUHOUN
Shane Colquhoun, Ph. D., is an assistant professor of music technology and contemporary music styles at Alabama State University. He holds a degree in Music Technology and Business from Bethune-Cookman University and degrees in music education (MEd., Ph. D.) and higher education administration (MEd.) from Auburn University.
Dr. Colquhoun is the author of The Producers of Pop: A Comprehensive Plan for Studying Popular Music Producers, available through F-Flat Books. He has publications in the Journal of General Music Education, the Massachusetts Music Educators Journal, and the Media Journal in Music Education. He has also contributed several chapters to books on music education. Currently, he serves as the chair of the NAfME’s Council for Innovation, a member of the NAfME Music Teacher Profession Advisory Committee a member of the board of the Association of Popular Music Education, and the Research Chair for the Alabama Music Educators Association.
