Naarah Callender is a choir teacher based in Tokyo, Japan. She has been teaching abroad international schools throughout east asia for the past 7 years. Her experiences teaching students of diverse international backgrounds has colored her passion for music education in a way that pushes her to go beyond working for beautiful sound, but more towards meeting students were they are and allowing music to shape them into better people. Callender is a firm believer in the power that pop music can have on students and how it can be a great foundation for exploring other genres of music and beginning to view themselves as musicians. Callender teaches at the American School in Japan and lives with her dog Ollie and cat Duke.
