About David

David Getz is the Orchestra Director at Morton High School in Central Illinois where he has been teaching since 2012.  In addition to directing the MHS Orchestra, Getz conducts the Central Illinois Concert Orchestra as part of Youth Music Illinois.  Also, at MHS, he leads the Composers’ Guild, an afterschool composition club he founded in 2012, and he coached Cross Country from 2012-2021.  Getz received his BME from Illinois Wesleyan University (‘12) where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and won the Concert & Aria Competition in 2010. He received his MME from Illinois St. University in 2021.
