Synthia MacEachern
Synthia MacEachern is an Orff-inspired primary music specialist on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education. from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Masters Degree in Literacy Education from Mt. St. Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2012, she completed her Orff Levels Training through Carl Orff Canada and has studied with Joe Berarducci, Debra Gieblehaus-Maloney, Doug Goodkin, and other celebrated Orff Educators. Syndi is working towards her EDD in Curriculum and instruction through Liberty University in Virginia.
For over 24 years, Syndi has taught K-12 music and literacy throughout the Maritime Provinces. She has served as department head for the PEI Drama Festival, pianist to the UPEI Wind Ensemble, and choral director to the St. Pius X adult choir and St. Francis Children's Ensemble. Syndi teaches at Gulf Shore Consolidated School as an elementary and instrumental music teacher.
Ms. Syndi is passionate about sharing her experience with other music professionals and is a sought-after Orff clinician throughout Atlantic Canada. She creates inspiring teacher resources on TeacherspayTeachers and authors the blog "Just Orffin' Around." Ms. Syndi currently resides in Cornwall, PEI, is mother to the sweetest kid, Lucy MacAulay, and is blessed to be supported by her husband, Rodney.
